Cremation

Direct Cremation

A direct cremation is cremation without a visitation or a church/funeral home service. The direct cremation includes transfer of remains to the funeral home, staff services, securing of necessary authorization, basic local transportation to the crematory, an alternative container for cremation, and return of the remains to the funeral home.

  • The cremated remains are returned in basic container. The purchase of an urn is an option available to those that select direct cremation.
  • Burial of cremains in a cemetery is also an option to those who desire a permanent final resting place.

Cremation with Viewing

Cremation is the means of final disposition (ultimately what happens to the body). It is a family option to have a viewing with the body present prior to the cremation. If a family selects this option the deceased body is embalmed, dressed and cosmetized. The use of a casket is required. The family has the option to purchase a casket (to be cremated) or to rent a ceremonial casket to be used for the viewing. The family may also decide to have the deceased’s body taken into church prior to the cremation.

  • The cremated remains are returned in basic container. The purchase of an urn is an option available to those that select cremation.
  • Burial of cremains in a cemetery is also an option to those who desire a permanent final resting place.

Cremation with a Memorial Service

Many families opt to have a loved one cremated and then have a memorial service at the funeral home or at a church. Some families choose to have calling hours as well as a service or just calling hours and no service. The option also exists to have calling hours with an urn or without the cremains present.

  • The cremated remains are returned in basic container. The purchase of an urn is an option available to those that select cremation.
  • Burial of cremains in a cemetery is also an option to those who desire a permanent final resting place.

Cremation Out of the Area

If a family member who is living out of town or abroad dies, we can handle the cremation for you. If a loved one dies outside of our area, you can call us to handle the cremation. We will contract with a local reputable funeral home and crematory to act as our agents and have the cremains sent to us.
