Obituary of Glynn Munson Davis

Glynn Munson Davis passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2015. He was 73 years old. Glynn had lived most his life in Windham until earlier this year when he and his wife Sharyn moved into the Beverwyck Community in Slingerlands, NY. Glynn was born in Bloomsberg, PA on October 27, 1941 to William and Harriett Davis. Glynn graduated from Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School and later attended the Wanakena Forestry School. He then joined the Coast Guard, served four years with an honorable discharge. He married Sharyn Kavanagh on April 5, 1964 in Windham, NY. Upon his discharge he moved back to Windham where he worked for the ski slope and a carpenter for some years. After that he worked for Tiny Pebworth at PSI and then the Morley Companies in Michigan both firms who were affiliated with Buick displaying new car models at major car shows which he retired from. Glynn was an avid boat enthusiast which he and Sharyn enjoyed for many years owning various boats. He also was a member of the Masons for many years. Glynn is survived by his wife Sharyn, daughter Dawn Flensted (Kevin) and son Eddie (Lisa Yezzi); grandchildren Bryant and Trevor; siblings Bill, Larry, Margy, Roy, Ted, Phoebe and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A wake will be held at Decker's Funeral Home on Main Street, Windham, NY on Thursday August 13 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be at the Windham Methodist Church on August 14 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter's Hospice or your local hospice center.
