Obituary of Teresa Rose Ratel

Teresa Rose Ratel, 67 years old, of Lexington, NY passed away on Tues., Sept. 1 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown of complications stemming from her two year battle with small cell lung cancer. She has gone home to her cherished mother, Jenny and her beloved brothers, Danny, Donald, Bobby, Jimmy and Walter. She is survived by her life partner of 37 years, Carolyn Bennett; her dearest friends, Peggy Bruno Mary Ann Giordano and Emily Keneally, and her many sisters-and-brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Terri was an artist, gardener, hiker, skier, animal lover, lover of old movies, classical music and opera. She lived in the Catskills for the last 32 years after having been a camper and camp counselor at the now-defunct Fresh Air Fund Girl's Camp, Camp Oh Ne Tah, in Windham, NY. Calling hours will be held on Sept.26,2015 at Decker Funeral Home from1:30-3;30pm.A memorial service will follow at 3:30pm.
