Obituary of Raymond H. Osborn
Raymond H. Osborn – Passed away on October 28, 2016
Born June 06, 1931 in Jewett,NY to the late Burdette and E. Violet (Watson) Osborn. He Married Bette Dodge on November 17, 1951. He is survived by his wife Bette, Daughter Joanne Overbaugh, Son James R. Osborn, Grandsons Michael DiMasi (Braiden), Derek J. Osborn, Granddaughter Shelby L. Osborn, Great Granddaughter Rylee Osborn and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by brother Harvey Osborn and sister-in-law Pauline Osborn.
Raymond graduated from WAJCS in 1950. He worked on the family farm with his father and worked many years for Prospect Dairy in Stamford, NY. He later worked for Catskill Mts. Petroleum Corp. When Main Care Energy bought CMPC, Ray became themanager of the Windham office. After retirement from Main Care, he worked for Catskill Mts. Security and also as caretaker for several local vacation homes.
While living in Ashland and a member of the Ashland Fire Dept, He was a founding member of the Ashland Rescue Squad. Ray moved back to Jewett in 1971 and as a member of the Jewett Fire Dept., he helped found the Jewett Rescue Squad. Through the years he also worked with Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Little League baseball. He enjoyed Hunting and camping and especially good times at Win's Cabin.
There will be a celebration of life open house at the Ashland Fire House on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 12:00 to 4:00.
