Obituary of Diane M. Reynolds

Diane Reynolds of Johnstown and Windham, New York departed peacefully on September 25th after a long illness. She was born on February 28th 1929 in Flushing, New York the daughter of Robert and Helen (Banitch) Schappert. Her early years were spent in Lake Oscawana where her parents owned and operated a hotel. She attended Maryland College for Women in Baltimore. In 1961 she moved to Windham where she lived until 2008. Diane was pre-deceased by her husband, Martin (Bud) Reynolds. She is survived by her son Richard and wife Jane of Johnstown, her brothers Robert J. (Jean) Schappert Jr. of Moab, Utah, and brother Anthony Walczak of Mystic, Ct and grandchildren Jack, Kate, and Patrick Reynolds. Diane was a retired real estate sales agent who worked for Bunce Realty in Windham for 35 years. She enjoyed golf, skiing, fishing, and reading. She was a founding member of the Oberammergau Hawks. She regularly attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Johnstown and St. Theresa's in Windham. Diane was a Patriot who greatly admired the military. Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Friday Oct.1,2010 from 4-8pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Theresa's R.C. Church, Windham, NY on Sat. Oct.2,2010 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.
