I happened to come across this by accident. My condolences to Jimmy's family. We were roommates at Fairfield University 1962. We had many intelligent and semi-intelligent debates together. Last time we spoke was at our 50th reunion. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

We are devastated to learn of Jimmy's passing. We have known him for decades, and despite stopping in to say hello sporadically, he ALWAYS remembered us and our family, and treated us all as if WE were family. We are praying for Jimmy's family at this sad time. May you find some measure of comfort and peace in your faith and love of family. God is holding Jimmy "in the hollow of His hand". May perpetual light shine upon him. He was a good man.

Dear Mary and Family,
Please accept our sincere condolences.
Jimmy was so welcoming to everyone, loyal and generous of spirit- a real loss to the entire Windham community.
We will personally miss all the great well-informed conversation and particularly watching college football together (Notre Dame of course) and reminiscing about Ireland and family.
Love,
Mary and Rick

Mary and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children.
Jimmy was a kind, honorable and loyal man and I valued his friendship
deeply. There were times when I never laughed so hard when we had ski promotions or just a casual drink at the bar. Those moments will always and often be remembered.

Mary and Family, We are sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing and offer our condolences. We were frequent skiers at Windham Mt and stayed at your motel many times. On day trips we always stopped for a drink on the way home. It was nice to have a chat with Jimmy and have one of his Windham Burgers. He will be missed by all and Windham will not be the same without him. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. Bob & Pat, Altamont, NY

I first met Jimmy when we both were 9 years old. We were friends since that time who grew up together and grew old together; who laughter and cried together.
I never met a person who had anything bad to say of him. He was fun loving and lived life with joy. He was a good provider for his wife and children, whom he lived dearly.
He will always be with me in spirit.
Rest in peace, Jimmy,
Your Pal,
Vin

Mary, John, Maggie,
On one of our many trips to the Windham Mountain Inn, we were sitting in the living room of the main house when a limousine pulled up and a "distinguished" lady in a full length fur coat came through the door and inquired as to where the Bell Boy might be. We sent her over to the bar and told her to ask for Jimmy. Don't know what happened, but we never saw her again that entire weekend. She clearly was not one of Jimmy's kind of people.
We treasure the fact that Kathy, myself, Bonnie, Kerry, Bobby and Bridget were all Jimmy's kind of people. We will miss him. May the love that so many of us had for him transfer over to each of you and give you comfort.

Dear Mary, Maggie, and John,
Bob and I were greatly saddened, upon our return from vacation, to learn of Jimmy's passing. Jimmy was always a gracious and generous host whenever we stopped in for a bite. It was he who was the architect of our wonderful trip to Ireland. All it took was our saying we'd love to go and he immediately made a call and we were off. For that and so much more we thank him. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you now.

My deepest Sympathy to Mary, John, and Maggie on your loss.
Jimmy's generous, open-hearted, welcoming friendship to those of us starting a radio station across the street during the Summer of '99 was instrumental in helping set the tone for how WRIP would want to conduct ourselves in the Windham community. Their friendship meant so much to Guy, whom Mary and Jimmy gave a sympathetic ear and free reign of the kitchen. And his hospitality made the Windham Mountain Inn my home away from home for years.
Jimmy hosted our first and second anniversary parties, as well as Guy's 60th birthday surprise party in November 2006. All three were broadcast live, and we even coaxed Jimmy on to a live mike. Those parties stand alone in the annals of broadcasting.
Thank you, Jimmy, and Mary, for everything.

End of an era.
I have many fond memories of "JOC", going all the way back to the start of the radio station. Back when co-founder Guy Garraghan and [Chairman] Dennis Jackson started building the station, you never found a more generous and gracious neighbor than Jimmy and the great Mary O'Connor. Even after Guy's passing, Jimmy would bring visitors - and especially - his new employees, many direct from Ireland - to meet us at the radio station. I always told these folks that we considered Jimmy the "Mayor Of South Street."
Everything's in order, Jimmy. I know GPG was there in Heaven to meet you.
Prayers and condolences to Mary, Maggie, Johnny and to the O'Connor extended family.
