Obituary
Robert C. Rappleyea – 07-11-1942 – 12-21-2017
In loving memory of Robert C Rappleyea who passed away on 12/21/2017 in the hospice unit at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, NY. He was born on July 11, 1942 in Stamford, NY to his parents Mildred and Charles Rappleyea who pre-deceased him. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan, of 57 years, His 3 loving children, Bob Jr., Shari (Pushman) and Greg, His Son in law Bill Pushman, His daughters in law Cathie and Charlotte (Rappleyea), His loving grandchildren Kristin, Bobby, Sarah, Lauren, Stephanie and Akeylah, His Brothers Jack and Charlie and many loving nieces and nephews.
Robert "Bob" drove many trucks many miles. He most recently worked for and retired from B&B Forest Products in 2004. He loved his trucks. He drove for Stryker Bros. , Jim Moseman, Carmen Trucking, Beech Grove. He owned his own truck which he meticulously cared for. But perhaps his favorite job was running the loader for his Son Greg. He was so proud of the business Greg built and was honored to help be a part of it. He was incredibly proud of all his children and the lives they have built. He sure did love his trucks but most of all he loved his family. Bob loved to camp and travel with his family. He loved to sit by camp fires and listen and tell stories with his family. Nothing made him more proud than his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife, especially to Myrtle Beach. He was devoted to making sure his family was taken care of right up until the day he passed.
There will be a memorial service at the Lexington United Methodist Church to celebrate Bob's life on Tuesday 12/26/2017 at noon, followed by a graveside service in Windham. Any donations can be made to the St. Peters Hospice Inn in Albany, NY.
