Obituary of Myra E. Drossel

Myra Edith Drossel,86, of Tannersville, New York, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 in Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at the Decker Funeral Home, Rt. 23, Windham, NY on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Decker Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Karen A. Monk officiating at the East Jewett United Methodist Church. Myra was born in Port Jefferson, NY to Arthur Alvin and Doris Musson on September 13, 1931. She went to her first 3 years of high school at Port Jefferson High School but spent her senior year and graduated from Fort Pierce High School, Fort Pierce, Florida in 1947. She was an active member of the East Jewett United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with and entertaining friends and family, cooking and baking, arts and crafts and gardening. Myra is survived by her daughters Gale and Loretta, her sons, Greg and his wife Cathie, Kevin and his wife Karen, and Edward, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, son Gary, sister Carol Rehak, her brother Alvin Musson and son-in-law Joseph Pitti. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the East Jewett United Methodist Church. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Albany Medical Center. In Myra's final hours their care and compassion was greatly appreciated by her1family.
