Obituary of Francis H. Pelkey

Francis "Frank" Harry Pelkey 86, of Windham, NY passed away on April 20th 2018 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY where he had been a resident for 1 month. Frank was born in South Schroon, NY on January 29th 1932. He enjoyed the Adirondacks fully with hunting, fishing, and trapping. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War on the USS Philippine Sea aircraft carrier. In the early 70s he moved to Windham, NY. He worked as a carpenter and for the Town of Windham highway dept. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Ruth Cottone Pelkey, four children Francis "Dudley" Pelkey, Mary Lee Gereau, Kathleen Alberts, and Autumn Pelkey. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren. Military Memorial Services with calling hours 11-1 and funeral at 1pm will be held on Saturday April 28th 2018 at Decker Funeral Home in Windham NY. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Windham PD, Greene County Sheriff, neighbors, friends, and church family who have assisted him throughout the years with his struggle with dementia. We would also like to thank the staff at Robinson Terrace for the care he received during his short stay with them.
