My Dearest Justine, I am deeply sorry to hear the sad news about Joe. I want you and the family to know my thoughts and deepest sympathy will be with all of you during this time. He will surely be missed. If we didn't have our cottage in Maplecrest, we never would have met.
Since I heard the news, I have been reminiscencing about all of our many times Joe, You, Art, and I spent together over the many, many years....even after Art passed away in July 2000, we still kept in touch. We always had a very "special" bond between us. Unfortunately, as we got older, including me with fractured arms and not being able to drive for long periods of time, plus other illnesses with the both of you and me,too, we didn't get to see one another as much as before. The "golden years" have been mighty "rusty / and certainly tarnished!!
Since I have not been feeling very well and have been going through various tests, trying different medications to get the correct help, I will not be able to come there to be with you..especially by your side...trying to comfort as much as possible. However, please know I will be thinkng of you and your family -- my prayers will be with you.
