Obituary of Earl Ostrander

Earl ''Ozzie'' Ostrander, 87, of Birch St. Kingston, NY, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, NY. He was born April 23, 1925 in Maple Crest, the son of the late Earl and Mildred Ostrander. He was the husband of Marion McCoubrey Ostrander. They wed on Feb. 2, 1957. He grew up in Maple Crest and throughout his life, spent many summers and weekends at the family home in Maple Crest. He graduated from Windham High School and enjoyed various sports while attending college. He enjoyed golf and had been a golf professional, He was a veteran US Army, having served during World War II, European Theater of Operations Ozzie had been a car salesman for James Dargan Oldsmobile in Hensonville for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Old Dutch Reformed Church, Kingston. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three nieces Cathrine McCoubrey, Nancy Ferrelli and Pamela Zambrano, a nephew Samuel McCoubrey. The funeral service will be at the Decker Funeral Home, Main St., Route 23, Windham NY on Saturday at 1 pm. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 - 1 pm. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland The family suggests instead of flowers memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
