Obituary of Robert M. Alverson
Robert Matthew Alverson Jr. 79,formerly of Grant City,SINY,died at his home in Windham, NY on April 4,2013. After attending New Dorp H.S. he enlisted in USMC and served in Korea. Upon returning home he joined the FDNY and retired after 28 yrs of service. He enjoyed golfing and skiing. He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2004. He is survived by his daughters Elaine Balcombe and Linda Alverson ,his sons Michael and Edward Alverson,his grandson Ryan Balcombe and his brother Joseph Alverson.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Sunday April 7,2013. A funeral service will be held on Monday April 8,2013 at 11amin the funeral home. Private cremation will followat Vale Crematory, Schenectady, NY
