I was away on vacation and just read this on Sunday night. I will miss you Guy as you were the man who gave me my start in radio back in 1984 at WCKL. You always made me laugh and provided such good memories. I hope they have plenty of M&M's in heaven for you. And I send my prayers to your wife, children and family. Thank you for all the good years of entertaining that you provided.

Guy was a wonderful man who made all laugh...with his funny statements and his Irish quotes. Working with him at the mt. eagle years ago was never dull. I listened to his memorial at Windham Mt. and was not shocked at the outpouring of love for him. My thoughts, prayers and love go to his family. Thank you for the laughs.

I had the privilege of calling Guy a friend. We met when I was 16 and announcing Catskill Babe Ruth games. He was managing the W-A-J team.
He saw my enthusiasm and had me call in reports of the games and air it on his show. A few years later, I was working at WCKL too. It goes without saying that Guy was always funny and quick on his feet. But the professional wisdom I received from him was invaluable. We worked together both in and out of radio for many years and I'm glad we kept in touch. I send prayers and heartfelt wishes to the entire Garraghan family.

One of my earliest rememberances when we first bought our home in Windham was finding the WRIP signal. My trips to Christman's Golf each weekend were always accompanied by Guy. Working in my yard was frequently with Guy on the headset. And over the past several years I would tune faithfully over the internet every morning in my office on Long Island to WRIP and Guy to kick-start my day with a cup of coffee. Guy kept me up to the minute on all things Windham. Kept me grounded with his Folksy, Country charm. While I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, I will miss him for sure! Condolences to Kristen, Jimmy, Chris and the entire Garraghan family. A tremendous loss on the Mountaintop for the entire Windham community!

Guy was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. When he bought that Mini Cooper, I was oohing and ahhing over it. He threw the keys at me and said, "Take it for a spin! Make sure you really stomp on the gas, though. It really likes to go fast!" Who does that? His generosity ran deep. I think he had a great life because the love he poured out on the world was returned by so many others. We could all learn from his example. Be kind. Share. Laugh. Seize the day.

Last March Guy and I had a reunion lunch at The Red Lobster restaurant in Kingston. We hadn't laid eyes on each other in 30 years, but it didn't take me long to realize he hadn't changed much in all that time. He was still hysterically funny, keen-witted and more introspective and intellectual than most people realized.
Sadly, I had hoped to make our luncheon an annual event, but it was not to be.
I share the sadness of his passing with his family and many friends.

One of my earliest memories of Guy was at a Greene County Chamber dinner. We sat at a table with Jay and Guy pretty much towards the back of the room While the speaker was giving his speech, Guy did not really want to be there and was getting quite bored. So he kept calling Jay on his cell till Jay finally turned off his phone
Guy was a great friend to my two older sons, Joe and Jeremy Marsh. They will miss him tremendously, especially the little comments on the radio about Joe's favorite teams or Jeremy's days of driving that snow plow on Route 23.
We will miss that red Mini Cooper and Guys wonderful laugh.

A personal memory: I first met Guy while recording PSAs at WRIP for the church. In my work, I do a LOT of public speaking; however, when I get in front of a radio mike, I lose all composure. I have a quick story about Guy that I'd like to share with you.
It was this past summer and I was walking Tippie down Main Street. Tippie was enjoying the warm summer day and decided to lay dawn on the sidewalk. I sat down beside her. So, there we were sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, when Guy drove by, saw us sitting there, pulled over, and joined us... He sat right int he middle of the sidewalk with Tippie and me, enjoying the moment.
That is my favorite memory of Guy.
